Independent Fiduciary Consultants

Our Location

The firm operates from offices in Guernsey.

The Bailiwick of Guernsey, which comprises the three main islands of Guernsey, Alderney and Sark, lies in the bay of St. Malo between 9 and 20 miles off the cost of Normandy and 80 miles south of the United Kingdom. Though geographically closer to France, Guernsey’s legal system is more in tune with the English legal system with the recognition of trusts and the creation of flexible company structures.

Guernsey is not part of the United Kingdom, although it is part of the British Isles and has its own legal system, legislature and responsibility for its own taxation policy. Guernsey is a well established international financial centre and provides a comprehensive range of facilities usually associated with such a centre, with low rates of direct taxation.

The Regulation of Fiduciaries and Administration of Businesses (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2000 came into effect on 1st April 2001 and now regulates all entities (including individuals) that provide trustee and company administration services, who must be licensed by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. Peter Hodson is licensed as a Personal Fiduciary under the above law.
